The Campaign

THE CAMPAIGN

Sight loss isn’t always inevitable but we need to take action to make sure people experiencing sight loss can always receive the right care at the right time.

We’re calling on the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England to develop a clinically-led National Plan for Eye Care in England that supports local decision-making with national accountability so that everyone can access the right care, where and when they need it.

The plan should prioritise maximising capacity in eye care services to make sure people experiencing sight loss receive the right care at the right time. It would involve:

1.

Establishing leadership and accountability to transform eye care services.

2.

Prioritising eye health within the NHS service for recovery and transformation.

3.

Investing in data and digital transformation, the ophthalmology workforce and future research.
